Holiday Thanks

The time of holiday gift-giving is upon us again. First, let me acknowledge all those who have given me the greatest present of all, a warm welcome to the adventure of blogging.

Every day has been a continuing adventure. I never know what I am going to write about until inspiration strikes, and then I cannot rest until I have uploaded my thoughts into this weblog.

Far too often, this occurs in the wee hours of the morning, but I am truly blessed with a wife who is a treasure. When I wake up with a start and head off to my computer, all I get is a sleepy, “Go for it, dear.” Gretchen has encouraged me from the beginning and has now started finding topics for me to write about.

I have received so much of great value from my extended family of webloggers that it is hard to single out individual instances of help and encouragement. However there are a few people who have been unusually helpful:

Fred, for his continuing source of ideas and web tools,
Beth for her encouragement and inspiration,
Misha, for his kind words and an avalanche of visitors,
Tiger for his kind words and many visitors,
The Commissar for his good words on my behalf,
Fletch and Marie for their friendships and wonderful pictures,
Jennifer for her penetrating insights,
Joanie and Linda and Denita, Eric and Ironbear for their friendship and feisty attitudes about the insanities of life.

I appreciate every visitor and I try to respond to all emails and most comments. If I haven’t acknowledged your contributions, send me an email. I’ll be delighted to hear from you.

I wish you all a happy holiday season and inspiration that exceeds your expectations. I feel that weblogs are just beginning to hit their stride as a voice for social change and we are all in on the ground floor.

Happy Holidays!
