His unwearying enthusiasm for occupational adventure seems to energize my thinking.<\/p>\n<p>His recent provocative post has to do with a developing a passion for work in jobs that are just inherently menial and <a href=\"http:\/\/curtrosengren.typepad.com\/occupationaladventure\/2004\/03\/fast_food_lesso.html\">uninspiring<\/a>. I had never given this any thought before. I wasn&#8217;t even sure it was possible. Now I know differently.\n<\/p>\n<p>\nHis post introduced me to Kathleen Williams, a management consultant to the fast food industry who is not afraid to get her hands <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kathleenlwilliams.com\/stories_archive\/leavingwhen.htm\">dirty<\/a>. Kathleen shows how leadership is the key determinant in making a menial job worth doing well. She identified five things that every employee needs from a leader in order to bring passion and commitment to their jobs. <\/p>\n<p>Kathleen has this telling statement at the entrance to her <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kathleenlwilliams.com\/\">consulting site<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><em>As a Senior Executive you know exactly where you want your organization to go. <\/p>\n<p>The problem is, that when you look around, no one else seems to have the same passion that you do&#8230; <\/em><\/p>\n<p>She shows that there is a way to inspire passion in any job. It is not rocket science and it is being done every day.<\/p>\n<p>You knew, of course, that there had to be a catch. Well there is.
