I hesitate to call it a restoration because I&#8217;m not sure how much of the original metal, if any, still remains.<\/p>\n<p>It seems to have been a very early Ford pickup and has found a new life as a toy for an older, and well-heeled, sports enthusiast. <br \/><a href=\"http:\/\/ripples.typepad.com\/photos\/uncategorized\/eyecandy8968.jpg\" onclick=\"window.open(this.href, '_blank', 'width=640,height=480,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0'); return false\"><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Eyecandy8968\" title=\"Eyecandy8968\" src=\"http:\/\/ripples.typepad.com\/ripples\/images\/eyecandy8968.jpg\" style=\"margin: 20px 0px 5px 5px; float: right; width: 278px; height: 208px;\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<br \/>The body shell and the doors may be original, but everything else seems to have been fabricated of new material to very high standards. The seats are cream-colored leather and the interior is spotless. <\/p>\n<p>This truck is a real showpiece, but it is used for runs to downtown Floyd and is attracting lots of attention. At least four people came up while I was shooting these pictures, including one fellow who said, &quot;It&#8217;s a shame they didn&#8217;t leave the flathead engine in it!&quot;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ripples.typepad.com\/photos\/uncategorized\/eyecandy8979.jpg\" onclick=\"window.open(this.href, '_blank', 'width=640,height=480,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0'); return false\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"250\" height=\"187\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Eyecandy8979\" title=\"Eyecandy8979\" src=\"http:\/\/ripples.typepad.com\/ripples\/images\/eyecandy8979.jpg\" style=\"margin: 0px 5px 5px 0px; float: left;\" \/><\/a><br \/>\nI wanted to bring you some history of this vehicle, but I traipsed through the Harvest Moon foodstore and the coffee shop Over The Moon asking for the owner of the Yellow Ford Truck in the parking lot with no results.<\/p>\n<p>I talked with several well-groomed sportsmen who looked very much like show car owners, but no one was willing to admit to owning this treasure. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ripples.typepad.com\/photos\/uncategorized\/radiatoremblem_1.jpg\" onclick=\"window.open(this.href, '_blank', 'width=396,height=448,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0'); return false\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"185\" height=\"209\" border=\"0\" alt=\"Radiatoremblem_1\" title=\"Radiatoremblem_1\" src=\"http:\/\/ripples.typepad.com\/ripples\/images\/radiatoremblem_1.jpg\" style=\"margin: 0px 0px 5px 5px; float: right;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>If anyone knows the provenance of this beauty, please send me an email. <\/p>\n<p>It has a Lucky Lady insignia in the rear window and Moon insignia on both sides of the cab.<br \/>\nIt also has a radiator ornament that seems vaguely familiar.<\/p>\n<p>You can click on these images to get a full-sized image.<\/p>\n<p>Here is a view from the front.<a onclick=\"window.open(this.href, '_blank', 'width=640,height=496,scrollbars=no,resizable=no,toolbar=no,directories=no,location=no,menubar=no,status=no,left=0,top=0'); return false\" href=\"http:\/\/ripples.typepad.com\/photos\/uncategorized\/eyecandy8958_1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" src=\"http:\/\/ripples.typepad.com\/ripples\/images\/eyecandy8958_1.jpg\" title=\"Eyecandy8958_1\" alt=\"Eyecandy8958_1\" style=\"margin: 10px 10px 0px 0px; float: left; width: 273px; height: 211px;\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n <\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0066ff;\"><strong>UPDATE:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s a big help having knowledgeable friends! <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/iowahawk.typepad.com\">Iowahawk<\/a> says, &quot;&#8230;that appears to be a &#8217;33 or &#8217;34 Ford, chopped about 3&quot; and channeled about 7&quot;, frame has likely been Z&#8217;d . That&#8217;s a stock &#8217;33-&#8217;34 grill, but he&#8217;s running an old Model T radiator cap on it.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>Engine is a small block Ford, probably 302 or 351, looks like a B&amp;M supercharger setup. The pickup bed looks like a shortened Model A.
