I clearly remember hard times during the Great Depression and hand-cranked cars. The kitchen sink had a hand pump and we used an outhouse until we had indoor plumbing. I remember going to kindergarten and seeing the big kids (6th graders) at the other end of the hall. They were twice as tall as I was!
I remember helping my father build an addition onto our house. I wasn’t much help, but he let me hand him nails and tools. Later, we built outbuildings, a boat, and a summer cottage together.
I discovered electronics in High School and repaired radios and built electronics gear. In college, I planned to work for a power company as an engineer until digital computers arrived on the scene and changed my plans.
I spent the next 26 years designing several generations of computers and computer-based systems for RCA, Adage, Honeywell, and MODCOMP. When integrated circuits appeared, I moved into marketing and managed product development for Sensormatic and MCBA.
During the next 20 years, personal computers and the Internet transformed the business world, so I began working for companies like Taligent and Sun Microsystems which were struggling to bring products to a changing marketplace that was evolving faster than they could follow. It finally became evident that my attempts at focusing on customer needs were out of step with what management wanted and I gratefully accepted a severance package which let me begin writing and finding what I wanted to do.
During the 20 years since I have “retired”, I have created three small companies and written four books on my experiences, and have had a wonderful time! I spend my days writing articles on my research and delivering counseling sessions over the Internet.
I am currently wrestling with my fifth book which should be last in the series. This one will be titled, “Working With Spirits”. It has taken longer than expected because new material keeps showing up every time I engage spirits in conversation.
I am eternally grateful to those of you who have used my services or products and have encouraged me to continue producing information you can use.
