You are probably doing something wrong. There is always work to be done because the universe operates on the basis of exchange. When you find yourself concentrating on work all the time instead of a balance between joyful exchange and serious effort to get things done, you have lost control of your life and need to get it back on track.
Life consists of reaching and withdrawing. When you are reaching, you are joyfully exploring new ideas and new places. When you are withdrawing, you are removing yourself from participation in life to assess what you wish to change. Reaching and withdrawing are both necessary for growth and success. When you reach, you are exchanging ideas and intentions with your environment, When you withdraw, you are able to see what effects you have caused.
If you have caused effects that others cannot easily experience, you may be prevented from reaching by the counter-intention you have created. Reaching and withdrawing is merely a matter of exchanging with your environment in accordance with established agreements. When you are providing services or materials that violate existing agreements, you will find that people will not accept what you are trying to share with them. It does not mean that what you are trying to provide is bad or evil, just that local customs frown upon what you are doing. If you continue to share in spite of local disapproval, you can be injured, incarcerated or even put to death, depending how offended the recipients of your exchange are.
Your treatment does not depend on your intentions, it is entirely a matter of how your ideas and services affect the recipients of your creations. There is a way to avoid creating upset when you try to help someone and that is to find out what the people need and want and provide that, instead of what you feel is best for them. If what people need and want is not what you want to do or provide, you should find people who need and want what you are willing to provide.
If you find yourself estranged from friends and family and being serious most of the time, you have not taken the time to find out what they need and want and provide it, If what they need and want is not what you wish to do, you need to find friends and family who need and want what you wish to provide. Only in the way will you be able to exchange what you do or provide with others and receive the benefits of your efforts to help others.
It has been said that a prophet is without honor in his own country and this is what happens when a person brings messages that people do not want to hear. According to the Bible, Jesus was rejected in Nazareth but was accepted in Galilee where people wanted to hear his message. If your audience does not want to hear what you have to say, you need to find the audience who needs your message.
If you are not spending your time being joyfully productive, you need to find a place and friends who want what you can do and provide.
