In today’s world of photoshopped news and edited sound bites, it is hard to establish the truth in a single glance. The ubiquity of smartphones and video cameras offers us a chance to take a wider view of almost every event of importance from a SWAT team activity to a “spontaneous” demonstration.
The Million Muslim March was heralded by articles such as this one: The American Muslim Political Action Committee (AMPAC) is making its “Million Muslim March” on September 11th in Washington, DC an annual event – complete with conference and think-tank.
The first photo I saw of the event was this one published by NBC:
I thought at the time that the close up was intentional so I waited for the photos from others on the scene.

This bottom image included newsmen and photographers as well as the Million Muslim Marchers.
The need to gather all of the information applies to events of all kinds. I wonder how long it will take to gather sufficient data on the actual situation in Syria to make a reasoned decision.
