Getting a wider view of events – very educational!

In today’s world of photoshopped news and edited sound bites, it is hard to establish the truth in a single glance. The ubiquity of smartphones and video cameras offers us a chance to take a wider view of almost every event of importance from a SWAT team activity to a “spontaneous” demonstration.

The Million Muslim March was heralded by articles such as this one:   The American Muslim Political Action Committee (AMPAC) is making its “Million Muslim March” on September 11th in Washington, DC an annual event – complete with conference and think-tank.

The first photo I saw of the event was this one published by NBC:

I thought at the time that the close up was intentional so I waited for the photos from others on the scene.

This appeared several hours later:

2 dozen musloids

And this too:

This bottom image included newsmen and photographers as well as the Million Muslim Marchers.

The need to gather all of the information applies to events of all kinds. I wonder how long it will take to gather sufficient data on the actual situation in Syria to make a reasoned decision.
