My Thoughts on Dealing With the Wuhan Coronavirus

At this point, I do not feel it matters whether the virus pandemic is the result of a plot or merely stupidity and carelessness followed by attempts to conceal mistakes that were made.

It appears that once a person has been exposed to the virus, it can take weeks for any symptoms to show. Once symptoms appear, it seems to take only five or six days until the person dies or gets better with treatment. It is the short time between symptoms and real sickness that is the scary part. If you and enough other people can stay away from gatherings for the next few weeks, the pandemic should flatten out.

Right now, there are enough undiscovered cases around that the number of infected people can jump from day to day. If you stay at home and keep others home, none of you will be out at the gym or on a bus to pick up the virus. I would recommend calling off all meetings for the next three weeks to be safe.

The other thing to watch is not to let your spirits get carried away with images of plagues and other social disasters. Handle any fears as they appear. We have some distant family members who are paralyzed with fear and they are scaring everybody they talk to.

Stay calm and get plenty of rest. You should be fine. Let me know if I can help. I am happy to chat with you online or through Messenger.
