A few few days ago, I created a spiritual safe space using the data in the linked document. To my surprise, using this spiritual safe space eliminates the need for many solo sessions to handle spiritual upsets.

My latest win involves handling the overflow from a dream that seemed to leave a lasting effect. This dream involved my being a prosecutor in an advanced society where I was convicting a government official who had ordered the execution of someone without the benefit of a trial. My role in this was not traumatic at all, but the technology I was using in the execution of my role was very realistic, and the details of the trial, my performance, the displays we were using just stuck in my mind and I could not seem to close it down.
As I woke up, I kept running through the different aspects of this civilization and the activity that had taken place in the dream, and I realized it was a real event from either my history or from one of my spiritual companions. After lying there in bed for a while, trying to turn off the memories of the dream, I decided to go out and sit down in my spiritual safe space and see what would happen.
After about 30 minutes sitting in my living room with my attention in present time, everything seemed to settle down and I was ready to get on with my life again. To get my attention in present time I did not use any chanting or spiritual methodology, I just sat there and patted the cat that was in my lap. I did not realize until tonight that having an animal who demands your attention pulls your attention into present time and does it very pleasantly.
If you don’t have an animal to pull your attention into present time you could probably look around the room and find objects and things that are pleasant to look at. An unexpected benefit of this visit to my spiritual safe place was an immediate desire to document this so someone else could benefit from it. I have just dictated this using an app on my computer and now I’m ready to get some more sleep.
